Safe and stable shelter for men, women, and families for a 30 day stay. Residents receive case management while in shelter, which includes goal setting and referrals connecting residents with resources to overcome barriers to housing and employment.
River Haven Homeless Shelter
The Portage Area Community Assistance program is a local clergy funded program that can provide eligible applicants with assistance for needs such as partial rent or security deposits, car repairs or registration, prescriptions, or other needs that may prevent the applicant from maintaining or obtaining safe and stable housing or employment. Applicants must reside in the Portage school district and can only seek assistance one time in a 12 month period.
PACAP
Foodshare and Employment Training program is administered through Forward Services Corporation. Persons who are Foodshare eligible or need to meet a work requirement can enroll in the FSET program if they are seeking employment. They can receive supportive services such as job listings, assistance with resumes, gas cards, cab vouchers, uniforms, or other items that may be considered necessary for the person to obtain employment.
FSET
Wisconsin Works is a cash benefit administered through Forward Service Corporation. Benefits can be provided for individuals with minor children who meet eligibility requirements while they look for work.
