Meet Our Team
The Board

Angie Braddock
My why is deep and wide. I was one of the original volunteers when River Haven opened. I found it fulfilling to be able to give back to our community, and be a support to the residents in shelter. I have since grown my skills and background and when the opportunity arrived to step into the Executive Director role, I jumped in with both feet. My desire to serve paired with my love of planning events and coordinating multiple projects made this a perfect fit for me. I look forward to each day and making a difference in people's lives.

Mary Ramsey
Mary Ramsey, Born and raised in the Portage area, I have a strong connection to the community and a drive just as strong to see it thrive. Working in Real Estate for my entire adult life has given me a platform to be able to give back from. I joined the River Haven Board to be able to do some good and have an impact in a sector that often gets overlooked by most people.

Cory J Teresinski
I was born in Wisconsin Dells and have lived the last 33 years in Reedsburg. I’ve been working in Portage as a Transportation Manager at FXI for close to 9 years now. I’ve been looking for a way to give back to the communities that I live/work in and that all came true the day I met Angie Braddock. She introduced me to River Haven and I’m very proud of the work I’ve heard about and I’m even more excited about what we can accomplish in the future. I live my life by a very simple quote “Win Today”.

Carol Sjoblom
Carol has been an integral part of the River Haven Board for nearly five years. In her role as Chairperson, she is dedicated to serving the communities of Portage and Columbia County, focusing on helping individuals achieve success and sustainability. Carol has been a resident of the area for the past 25 years and is deeply committed to continuing her service on the board for many more years. Her leadership and passion for the community have significantly contributed to the shelter’s mission and impact. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren and cherishes moments at her property near Castle Rock Lake.

Jenny Johnson
A social worker and graduate of Portage High School and UW-Madison, I have a deep passion for helping people and have worked with many underserved populations including those who have experienced incarceration, homelessness, mental illness, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. As a former case manager at River Haven Shelter, I joined the RH Board because I firmly believe it is a vital resource for our rural community .

Marie Darling Ellis
I have lived and worked in the Portage Community for over 20 years and raised my family here. I am so thankful to have the privilege to support those who are underserved by connecting them to resources and services available to them through my role as a Community Health Worker. I became part of the River Haven Board to better understand the housing needs of our community, improve collaboration between community partners, advocate for people who are in need of services, and to work with like-minded people who value and respect all people and strive to build a healthier future for our whole community.
